An Industry Partner of Star South Academy is offering a full-time 12-month learnership opportunity for someone who wishes to pursue a career in Human Resource Management but lacks a formal qualification.
Star South Academy is a specialist training provider that focuses on nurturing the future of the agriculture industry, covering fields from agriculture to logistics, administration, and management. We are passionate about empowering youth and creating career opportunities through various learnership programmes in partnership with Industry Leaders. Our goal is to see the next generation thrive in the ever-evolving agricultural landscape.
Our Industry Leaders are esteemed businesses across different sectors of agriculture. Learners work under their supervision throughout the programme and adhere to standard employment regulations.
What is a learnership, and how does it work?
Learnerships are practical programs that lead to a registered qualification within the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). These programs provide both theoretical and practical skills, allowing learners to gain hands-on experience while acquiring theoretical knowledge. Star South Academy partners with Industry Leaders, where the Academy imparts theoretical expertise, and Industry Leaders provide practical skills.
- The programme will run for 12 months, and the learner will work full time for the employer.
- The candidate will be based within the HR division and will be exposed to various daily tasks.
- During this time, the candidate will also study Human Resource Management NQF4 (the company provides one day a month for attending online classes).
What are the candidate requirements?
- National Senior Certificate
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Reliable transport
- Computer literate, especially
- Microsoft Excel
- Strong administration and coordination skills
- Trustworthy
- Resilient and able to work under pressure
- Committed and hardworking
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Work with accuracy and have attention to detail
- Self-disciplined
*Please note, that no previous HR experience or qualification is required, but will be beneficial.
Basic Duties
- Filing and administration of employee documents
- Onboarding and exit of employees
- Preparing all employee documentation
- Capturing and maintaining data integrity on systems
- Assist with all HR-related functions and queries in the business
- Coordinate employee training
- Any reasonable task(s) requested by management
