Creating Connections over 20 Years
Our passion is cultivating meaningful relationships and strengthening bonds within our local community.
Star South is built on relationships.
We sincerely believe that when people and partnerships prosper, business prospers. We’ve seen it first-hand: in the connections nurtured in our wonderful network of farmers, growers, suppliers, retailers and trade partners. Not to mention the good people on the Star South team.
This is why we support individuals in our community, young and old – at every season of life. We start with the people on our doorstep; we love our home, and we want to see every part of it flourish. From non-profits doing incredible work, to local schools where our own kids are growing up, we help out with a number of organisations and initiatives throughout the year.
On this page, you’ll find our ‘regulars’ – the people we’ve walked a road with. And you’ll also find out how you, too, can get involved.

Silverkruin huis vir bejaardes (Silwerkruin home for the elderly) | Wellington
Silwerkruin ACVV Home for the Elderly is the first elderly home in Africa to be registered with Eden Alternative, an international non-profit that champions people-centred, long-term care communities. Through hard work, perseverance, passion and, above all, the conviction that their staff are their greatest assets, Silwerkruin is a home – rather than an institution – where staff are sincere caregivers providing a safe and stable environment, and where residents live with dignity.
How you can help
Silverkruin’s fundraising activities are an indispensable source of income.
The annual bazaar serves as the main fundraising event and is well supported by the local community. The Champagne Breakfast is also a wonderful social occasion that doubles as a fundraising opportunity.
Several additional fundraising projects are in the works for the near future – please keep an eye on their website for news and details.
