Procurement Coordinator: Commodities
Position Location: Northern Cape (Remote Work)
Please note that this position is based in the Northern Cape. You will be working remotely and not from the Star South Fruits office in Wellington, Western Cape.
Requirements
- Adequate secondary qualification
- Experience in procurement and purchasing of lucerne and other animal feed products
- Experience in quality control and loading processes for lucerne and other animal feed products
- Computer literate with good reporting skills
- Available to travel between farms where quality control and loading are required
- Based in the Northern Cape (Douglas, Kimberley, Hartswater)

Job Description
- In cooperation with the procurement manager, coordinate the volumes available on a weekly basis at farms for loading
- Conduct quality checks, sampling, and grading of available stock
- Sort and prepare stock for loading
- Communicate with the transport department to arrange vehicles for loading
- Communicate with the farm on loading dates and times
- Ensure all feed is loaded as planned
- Oversee loading of vehicles
- Ensure all administration related to quality control and loading of vehicles is accurately and timeously completed, such as taking photos of the loading process, managing quality control certificates, and handling loaded weight certificates.
- Timely communication if the product is not available or does not meet specifications
- Perform quality assurance on farms and at loading points
- Test and sample product available for loading to confirm quality requirements
- Manage quality standards through instruction and training at the farm level
Remuneration
Market-related, depending on experience and knowledge.
