Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics Management
  • Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans

Job Description

  • Farm to Port
    • Liaise with growers/suppliers on weekly availability of stock to be moved to port
    • Liaise with Star South Transport team to book vehicles
    • Provide farm with loading details and times
    • Ensure grower/supplier supplies the required loading supporting documents
    • Book trucks in at port for receiving
    • Manage stock control sheets of incoming loads
  • Port Warehouse
    • Liaise with port warehouse regarding inbound vehicles
    • Manage stock control sheets of stock in the warehouse
  • Shipping and Clearing
    • Liaise with clearing and shipping service providers on vessel bookings
    • Have visibility of vessel bookings and packing instructions to the warehouse
    • Manage stock control sheets of outgoing stock onto vessels
  • Stock control through the supply chain (farm – disport)
  • Reporting on a weekly basis
  • Ensure all operational processes are followed accurately
  • General administration and processing of documents
  • Ensure data integrity and reporting for traceability purposes
  • Work closely with the team to ensure logistics requirements are met
  • Assisting the operations team with any other relevant tasks required

Remuneration

Market related, depending on experience and knowledge.

He has experience in all major business areas, including farming, handling, transport, logistics, IT, marketing operations, finance, management, international and domestic affairs. He is fluent in French and also has basic Spanish language skills.
